Lewis Testa

no-photo My Name is Lewis Isaac Testa. I was born on April 18, 1945 in Portland Maine. Shortly afterwards my family moved to New York City where I was raised. I have always loved Landscapes and wildlife, but for some reason I didn’t pursue it during my younger years.
I joined the Navy in 1962 at the age of 17, and served during the beginning of the Viet Nam conflict. I was discharged in 1966 with an Honorable Discharge.
When I was 25 I met a woman, which would have the greatest influence on my life. We started a family and when we had our second child I decided to draw a portrait of her, seeing this my wife suggested I enter art school to get some formal training, which I did with her support and influence. I singed up for classes at The Art Students League at the age of 30 in 1976. And so it started. I studied fine art illustration under the tutelage of Robert E. Shultz. Who was the second biggest influence in my life? I also studied under Jack Sargasso, Robert Beverly Hale, and John Howard Sanden. After attending the Art Students League for one year, I received The Art Students League Scholarship for the next three years.
Edward Fields, Inc hired me. As a graphic artist in 1979. I worked with them until my stroke forced me to retire in 2002. My last project with them was helping to design the Oval room rug in the White House.
My stroke left me paralyzed on my right side, which is my dominant side. So now after three to four years of intense therapy I am ready to start over again in art as a Pastel artist and Instructor. I feel I am one of the luckiest men on the face of the earth.

Michele Haro

Posted by admin On June - 16 - 2009

no-photoBorn in Upstate New York in 1953, Michele Haro has always had a love of the arts from childhood. One of the classes she loved in grade school and high school was Art.

In later years in 1985, she attended college at the age of 32 for Graphic Design, at the Sage Colleges in Albany, also known as the Junior College of Albany. Michele was chosen out of many other women for a scholarship from the Schenectady Business
& Professional Women’s Club, which helped tremendously in attaining her goal. She was working, going to college and raising her youngest daughter Chanel, on her own. After college, she became a Graphic Designer for various area print shops beginning with Mohawk Printing which was then on State St., in Schenectady. and 2 years later became the “flats” designer for the Ballston Journal Newspapers of Ballston Spa. This would entail the complete design of the newspaper from front to back.

Upon the death of her father in 1993, Michele left the newspapers to care for her mother, who then expired 3 years later in 1996. She then decided it was time to get back on track, and received training to become a Sign Maker at Pendlelton Signs of Glenville, New York. She then moved on to another, more flexible sign business at Quick Sign Stop in Scotia, New York where she worked for another 4 years. After that, she decided it was time to become her own boss, and purchased the equipment to start her own sign business. She still occasionally makes signs today, but her true love is in Photography and Art.

In 2001, Michele sold her beautiful 2 story glass house on Saratoga Lake with most of its furnishings, and moved to Palm Bay, Florida. She brought very little with her to start her new life. She longed for a change in climate and scenery and Palm
Bay seemed the perfect place for year-round photography, art and travel. In her travels, she has been from Jacksonville to the Keys and from the Space Coast to the Treasure Coast and many places in-between. Her favorite place of all is St.
Augustine with all of its historical richness.

Michele’s photography depicts models, portraiture, nature, new and old construction, special events, historical sites, musicians, landscaping and candid shots of people being themselves. She also creates videos of musicians in conjunction with WGRV, “The Groove” under Randy Bennett. Her goal is to capture places, events and people to document for future generations.

She finds traveling to new places very relaxing and intriguing.

Michele has 2 daughters who reside in Upstate New York. Chanel, the youngest just completed college and the oldest, Deena is presently in college.

Various pieces of Michele’s artwork and photography can be seen at the Cancer Center in Merritt Island, the Government Center in Viera, the Melbourne Airport, the Melbourne Harbor and also in Titusville and Rockledge. She currently has been featured on the June issue of “Senior Scene Magazine” and has been interviewed on a TV show called “Focus”.

You may see alot of Michele’s artwork being used by nationally known Smooth Jazz musicians such as Will Donato, Robert Harris, Tony Wynn, Matt Marshak and many others in that genre.
